Dental veneers are a fast and easy fix for smile imperfections

Porcelain dental veneers are best described to our patients at North Aurora Smiles as thin, custom-made shells of a tooth-colored material designed to cover the front surface of your natural teeth. They are a popular and reliable cosmetic dentistry option for men and women looking to improve their smile’s appearance quickly and easily. But what makes them such a simple solution? Drs. Hammad Aziz and Stephanie Janes of North Aurora, Illinois, talk to patients about these treatments and what sets them apart from other aesthetic dental work available at the office.

What are porcelain dental veneers?

Porcelain veneers, or teeth veneers, are extremely thin facings made of porcelain, a strong and durable restoration material that closely resembles the appearance of natural teeth. These custom-made shells are bonded to the front surface of your natural teeth, effectively covering any imperfections or flaws in your smile.

Transformative Smiles: Veneers Before and After results

How are porcelain veneers a fast and easy fix for smile imperfections?

Porcelain veneers offer a variety of benefits that make them stand out from other cosmetic dental treatments:

  • Natural appearance. Porcelain is a material that has a translucent quality that mimics the look and feel of natural tooth enamel. This makes porcelain veneers virtually indistinguishable from your own teeth, creating a seamless and beautiful result.
  • Customization. Each veneer at our office is custom-made to fit your unique smile, ensuring a perfect match with the rest of your teeth and overall facial features.
  • Minimal preparation. Unlike other treatments that may require significant reshaping or removal of tooth structure, porcelain veneers only require a very small amount of enamel to be removed in order to securely bond them to your teeth.
  • Quick and easy process. The entire process of getting porcelain veneers typically takes only two appointments. In the very first appointment, your teeth will be prepared, and an impression will be taken to create your custom veneers. In the second appointment, your dentist at North Aurora Smiles will simply bond the veneers to your teeth, leaving you with a beautiful and improved smile.
  • Long-lasting results. With proper care and maintenance from the patient, porcelain veneers last for many years, making them a cost-effective option in the long run.

Who is a proper candidate for cosmetic porcelain veneers?

Porcelain teeth veneers are an excellent option for our patients who want to improve the appearance of their smile without undergoing extensive procedures or treatments. They are most commonly used to address cosmetic concerns such as:

  • Stained or discolored teeth
  • Chipped or broken teeth
  • Uneven or misaligned teeth
  • Gaps between teeth
