Dentures / Partials

There are many reasons why a patient might experience tooth loss. Teeth can be lost due to the late stages of periodontal disease, severe decay, or even trauma. When any of these situations occur, patients must work with a dentist to restore their smile’s appearance, function, and health after teeth have been lost or extracted. Dr. Hammad Aziz of North Aurora Smiles is available to help patients learn more about all their options. For patients considering an economical solution to replace one or more teeth, dentures are a common recommendation.

Below are just a few of the more common types of dentures that are used in our practice to replace patient’s teeth:

  • Partial dentures – the partial denture is an oral appliance that is fabricated to replace one or several teeth in the dental arch. The denture teeth can be customized in shape and color to match a patient’s existing teeth. This denture is removable for easy cleaning and care.
  • Full dentures – full dentures are utilized to replace all the teeth in the dental arch. These acrylic restorations are custom-made for the patient. They include false teeth and gums and can be held in place on the upper or lower jaw with natural suction, denture adhesives available over-the-counter, or even the placement of several dental implants along the arch.
