You can schedule your child’s first dental visit as early as one year old or shortly after their first tooth. Early dental check-ups and cleanings will help keep your kids’ teeth healthy and strong throughout their formative years. At North Aurora Smiles, we offer children dental services to families in North Aurora, Illinois, and neighboring communities. We invite you to visit our clinic, meet our team, and benefit from quality pediatric dental care for your kids and teens.
Despite advancements in pediatric dentistry, cavities remain a significant problem in children. When left unchecked, cavities can spread, causing extensive damage to your children’s teeth and gums. Even though these baby teeth will eventually fall out, there’s the risk of oral infections and decay impacting permanent teeth underneath. Unhealthy baby teeth can produce unhealthy permanent teeth, ruining your child’s smile at a young age.
Painful oral infections can make life difficult for your child, as he may have trouble eating, speaking, or concentrating in school. Oral infections can also affect your child’s overall health. If bacteria from untreated gum disease spread to your child’s bloodstream, it can impair his heart, kidney, and brain function. These problems can be prevented through early dental care.
Remember that your child’s mouth is constantly changing through his formative years. His/Her teeth and gums are growing and developing, just like their body. By practicing good dental hygiene today, your child is helping to create a healthy, radiant smile for the future.
At North Aurora Smiles, we offer several dental services for children to promote good oral health. These include:
