Susan, Rdh, Hygiene Team Leader, Registered Dental Hygienist
Susan believes that being a hygienist involves paying attention to the “total health" of her patients. She has been a hygienist for ten years and is also certified in local anesthesia and sealant placement. Susan is well versed in all aspects of periodontal therapy and dental hygiene care. She enjoys educating patients about the benefits of good oral health. Prior to becoming a hygienist, Susan worked in the medical field as a certified nursing assistant, patient care technician, and phlebotomist for twelve years. She then went back to school and earned a degree in Applied Sciences in Dental Hygiene. Susan was born in Germany and speaks fluent German. She has two grown children and in her spare time she loves to canoe with her husband on the Fox River and garden.
Lexi, RDH, Registered Dental Hygienist
Lexi has always found going to the dentist interesting and fun. She credits her interest in dentistry to her childhood dentist. Lexi finds the most rewarding part of her job is seeing results in her patients, as their oral and overall health improves. The environment at North Aurora Smiles is just what Lexi was looking for and she enjoys being part of a caring team who provides individualized treatment to each patient. Lexi enjoys traveling and attending various sports games.
Debbie, Dental Assistant Team Leader, Certified Dental Assistant
Debbie has been with North Aurora Smiles for four years. She has over 21 years of experience as a Dental Assistant, and has received multiple certifications through continued education courses. In addition to her passion for quality patient care, Debbie is an avid animal lover. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her dogs, ferrets, and birds. Debbie is an active board member of two organizations that care for animals in need: Zoo’s Ferret Sanctuary and Animal Heartline Humane Association. She dedicates her time away from dentistry to these organizations. Debbie is also a very active member of her church and enjoys camping and swimming.
Blanca, Dental Assistant
As a dental assistant, Blanca seeks to ensure her patients are comfortable at each appointment. Most rewarding to her is seeing a patient with a confident smile after treatment and empowering them to take control of their dental care. Blanca thoroughly enjoys working with the team at North Aurora Smiles and always looks forward to making her patients’ dental experiences better. Blanca has two children and loves cooking for her family. She enjoys picnics and going for walks.
Erica, Front Office Team Leader, Patient Service Representative
Erica has worked in the dental field for over 19 years. She has both clinical and front desk experience. She helps patients understand their treatment plans and maximize their dental insurance benefits. Erica does this with care and compassion for all her patients. Erica served as office manager for Scott Morris, DDS, and Associates, until their office merged with North Aurora Smiles in 2015. She is also certified in Coronal Polishing & Pit/Fissure Sealants and Anesthesia/Sedation Monitoring. Erica is mom to two young children who keep her very busy when she is not at the office.
Kelly, Patient Service Representative
Kelly has been with our practice for over three years. She enjoys getting to know patients and likes to make sure every patient has a great experience. Kelly helps our patients navigate the sometimes confusing world of insurance/financing. She is always here for our patients to calm fears, answer questions and help make treatment possible for them. She loves fine art and enjoys creating new works of art in her spare time. She also loves the outdoors and off-roading adventures.
Maria, Patient Service Representative
Maria found her way into the dentistry field through her passion for helping others. As a patient coordinator, she enjoys walking her patients through their visit from the initial phone call up until they walk out the front door after a great dental experience. Maria looks forward to coming into work each day knowing she’ll be working with a tremendous team and she’ll be able to help her patients attain the healthy and beautiful smile they deserve. Maria enjoys her time away from the office with her family and going for walks with her puppy.
